Florida has a reputation for being a summer destination. Singer Island locals will quietly tell you that’s backwards.
Here’s the honest answer to when you should visit.
November to April — The Sweet Spot
This is peak season, and for good reason. Daytime temperatures sit between 68°F and 80°F, the humidity drops, skies are reliably clear and the ocean is calm and swimmable. Snowbirds arrive in December and the island takes on a pleasant buzz without feeling overcrowded.
January and February are our quietest months for full-week bookings — genuinely wonderful if you’re working remotely or want a slower pace. March is when families move in for spring break; expect a livelier atmosphere and book further ahead. Ocean temperature in winter sits around 72–74°F — warm enough to swim without drama.
May to June — The Shoulder Window
The crowds thin after Easter, prices ease, and Singer Island in May is one of the better-kept secrets in Florida. Daytime temperatures push into the high 80s but the sea breeze keeps it comfortable. Ocean visibility hits its annual peak — excellent for snorkelling at Blue Heron Bridge.
Loggerhead turtle nesting season starts in late April. If you time it right, ranger-led evening turtle walks at MacArthur Beach are one of the more quietly remarkable things to do in South Florida.
July to September — Hot, Humid, Quiet
Honest answer: this is the hardest stretch. Heat index regularly tops 100°F, afternoon thunderstorms roll through most days, and hurricane season is active June through November. That said, guests who don’t mind the heat love the off-season calm. Rates are at their lowest, the island is at its quietest, and the storms usually pass in under an hour.
October — Underrated
Hurricane risk drops sharply after mid-October, temperatures ease back to the low 80s, and Singer Island feels genuinely local again. If you can travel outside school holidays, October deserves serious consideration.
Our recommendation: November through April for first-timers. May or October for repeat guests who want the island to themselves.
